Have you ever wondered about starting an online business? And particularly about doing it as hands-off as possible? Is that a realistic goal or not?

Common sense would say, of course not. You have to work at making a living.

So how gullible are we as a society where someone can offer to sell a product like this where supposedly they made tons of money with this and then are going to turn around and sell it to you for 3 payments of $47? Does it really work? Could it be that easy?

Supposedly he only is selling 100 copies. Today is April 12th. At this price how long would it take to sell out? How many will they really sell? Will it work for you? Xtreme Profit Robot. Haw you heard about it?

Free Website Analysis

Not talking about a review of your website, we are talking here about a free online website SEO analysis! This cool site, woorank.com, does just that for you.

Simply go to the site and input your website’s URL. And push “Woorank Report”

After a few moments you’ll see that the final report is finished and ready for you. Now – glance through the categories and see the results. They tell you if you’ve passed that criteria for that check and you can expand each area to see if it is good or not and how to go about improving things. It might be that you do not have a “www” resolves set properly so someone entering www.domain.com into their browser could end up not getting your site if you only used domain.com.

The quickest way to use this site when the results come back is to use the handy red/green light selections on the far right. Glance down looking for items that are flagged as red and dig into them further.

You’ll find out things such as your visitor traffic, whether you have meta keywords and descriptions, how many back links you have and how many of them are from .edu and .gov sites and why that is important. How many times you’ve been Digg’ed, and how many recent Twitters you’ve had. Are you in Wikipedia? What’s your load time? Etc. You get the drift, right? Cool tool! :)

This is a very handy website analyzer tool and can save you lots of time checking these things individually and by hand.

This website is highly recommended!

Free Design Your Own Home

I had a friend need a newer version of a 3D home design program he had. He’d upgraded to Windows 7 and the older one (designed for Windows 3.1) wouldn’t cut it any longer. (Read that, he couldn’t get the 3.5″ disks to work anymore).

After looking around a little, I stumbled across AutoDesk’s Homestyler software. It’s free. It’s all online. Just go to their website and use it. How cool is that?

So – if you have need for any sort of designing, head over and check this free tool out!

Need to design a room online for free? This is the ticket. Want kitchen design online? This will do it. Want to design a room online? This one will meet your needs!

One really cool part of this program is that there is a set of online videos that tell you how the program works and can walk you through your own design. The cute Nadia Geller, an Interior Designer, does a good job on these videos.

When you design you can save your designs online, you don’t have to recreate it all every time. And you can share these designs and get opinions and feedback from others.

Of course, the program is limited to the brand names of the products featured so you may find that your paint color choices are limited due to the manufacturers in the program.

But still, it is a cool way to quickly, and inexpensively, design a house online, or just the kitchen. It truly is 3D home design free. It runs fast, is easy to get the hang of and is kinda fun to see your ideas coming together! Also check out this review article by Digital Inspiration.

Try it! Let me know what you think! :)

MLB 11: The Show

This video game, MLB 11: The Show, came out for Sony’s PlayStation 3 (and 2 and PSP) system just last week – and already it’s sucked up so much playtime it is getting embarrassing!

I had other stuff to do.. yet just one more game!

If you aren’t familiar with this franchise, you’ll find that it is a great baseball sim. If you want to play the Yankees vs. the Red Sox – you can. But, one really great way to play this game is the Road to the Show feature!

Road to the Show

What you do is you create a baseball player. And enter the draft. Some team will pick you up (or you could pick the club you want to play for) and you’ll end up getting sent to the minor leagues. What position do you play? Pitcher? Closer? Catcher? 1st base? Well, that’s where you’ll play the game. And you play in the plays that take place at your position. Pitchers pitch each pitch until they are pulled from the game. As a 3rd baseman you’ll see the plays you are involved in, etc. Then you bat!

Basically how well you do allows you to move up, and finally to AAA ball, and then the Big League! It’s lots of fun for anyone who likes baseball, or sports, or just wants a diversion from all the killing in other video games.

Online play is cool too. You can manage a league online and play games against your other league-mates. You can just play random people too if you want. Fun and satisfying!

There are a couple minor little drawbacks. The loadtime, ugh, I guess its an “expected” thing with PlayStation 3. There is about 15 seconds waiting telling you about how to properly set-up the Move peripherals. For a game where the only use of Move is the Home Run Derby? Then loading a saved game, well, takes a while! I waited about 20 seconds after it said it was 100% loaded. But once you are into the game – it is immersive and worth the little bit of a wait.

Hacking Video Displays!

Ok, now this one is really slick! This guy made a device you can connect to your iPhone or your iPod and it will transmit a video signal that can overpower (if I understand correctly) the video that is playing on the display. Really cool trick! This would be cool to do to your boss’s computer screen!

Zune Player – Rest in Peace

So, I’d hoped to post something really cool and satisfying today. The first day back on this blog in quite a while. But, sadly I have to go with something that caught me by surprise and off-guard a little. Microsoft is apparently shuttering the Zune product line. The lastest Zune, the Zune HD, hasn’t been updated in a couple of years.

I don’t own one. I’ve seen one. I think they are cool. I really like my iPod Touch, it does so many cool things. But – I’m really sad to see the only really viable competition for the media players going away. Competition would spur Apple to keep making better iPods, and who knows, maybe they drop the ball and we are all getting Zune’s someday soon.

Microsoft hasn’t officially said this yet, apparently they are playing coy and not dissing the rumors. So … if you want a media player, you pretty much have to go for the iPod Touch, if not for the sweet apps, then the video and camera, and web browsing part – seems I do more than that from the couch! Or you could get a sweet HTC EVO 4G Android Phone phone! Yes!
